The Painted Roses

About us

The Painted Roses are a folk rock band from Northern Utah. Strongly influenced by the songwriting of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and other artists of long ago, as well as the wildly popular acts of today such as the Avett Brothers and Alabama Shakes, the band has made it their mission to add their own unique and new twist to the genre.

The band is the product of a dream that began more than a decade ago, when Cole Stocker (guitar/vocals) and Jack Hogan (bass/vocals) became friends on a bus ride to middle school. The two bonded over bands such as CSN, The Grateful Dead, and the Allman Brothers. Soon life got in the way, and the two didn't meet again until late 2017, when they decided to form what would become The Painted Roses. In 2018, Jeff Thompson (drums) was added and the group began playing shows, and meeting in the studio with longtime friend and producer, Benton Wood. Their debut single, 'The Owl', was released in November of 2018. The band has played several shows in the Northern Utah area, including a live performance on 92.3 KBLU in Logan.

Currently, the band is looking forward to the release of their first album, titled 'The Sad Man', to be released on April 17!
